Project Coyote protects wild carnivores and promotes compassionate coexistence through education, science, advocacy, and coalition building. They fundamentally shift the way coyotes, wolves, bears, bobcats, and other wild carnivores are viewed and treated to create a North America where humans and wild carnivores coexist and ecosystems thrive.

Project Coyote focuses on three core areas: PROTECT, COEXIST, and INSPIRE. Their interdisciplinary programs and campaigns use multi-prong strategies to achieve their goals in these areas.

They PROTECT wild carnivores through coalition building, policy change, and direct advocacy with campaigns to End Wildlife Killing Contests, End the Use of Cruel Traps, Protect America’s Wolves, Reform Wildlife Governance, and more.

They teach people to compassionately COEXIST with their wild neighbors through community outreach, public education, and social media campaigns, with campaigns such as their Coyote Friendly Communities and Ranching & Farming with Wildlife initiatives.

And they shift attitudes and INSPIRE appreciation for wild nature by partnering with educators and creatives in their Artists for Wild Nature and Keeping it Wild: Youth Education campaigns.
